Can I just say,
I love my internship?
I was so nervous, so scared.
But I couldn't have imagined anything better.
For one, I get to play games with kids all day.
Wii, Skip-bo, Cranium, Connect 4, Fuse Beads, Sorry!, Kinect, the list goes on and on.
You should see the supply of games we've got in the rec room at the hospital.
When I'm on the infant unit, I make funny faces, sing silly songs, and am all around goofy getting the kids to respond. But let's be real, we all know I'm completely natural at being goofy and silly.
And the kids.
I wish I could tell you how adorable they each are.
How heart wrenching their stories are, but how they keep fighting,
keep achieving, and never give up.
Yes, it's an adjustment getting used to working full time.
I leave the house when it's dark, come home when it's dark,
and then get ready to do it all over the next day.
Route 1 traffic is not my favorite place, but it's okay.
I still have a lot to learn
(how many medical terms, abbreviations,
and developmental milestones are there?),
and there is a lot more work to be done,
but it's going to be great.
Such an awesome internship! I bet you're great at it!
