To My Mom

How can I ever let you know how much I appreciate everything you've done for me.

The late night phone calls when I wake you up and you pretend you were awake anyway. Coming home from school everyday during high school, walking into the house, and knowing everything was going to be alright. Having you all to myself after school sophomore and junior years so I could tell you about my days. Driving me everywhere I needed or wanted to go. Trying your best to hide your stress when I started to drive. Trusting me. Loving me. Making me go to piano lessons even when I fought you. Being my seminary teacher, friend, and buddy. The cards and packages that you send when I need them. The day trips, the road trips, the plane trips, the time spent together. The incredible birthday cakes you made for us. The sewing, cooking, cleaning, household lessons. Being my friend and confidant always. Everything else that you've done but most of all knowing that no matter what, you will always have time for me, and always love me.

I wish I could be home with you to celebrate today but know I am thinking about you across the states today.
I love you mom.
Emily
