Monday was the last day of my internship.
I wasn't ready for it.
I've loved every minute of my internship.
Yes, there were moments where I was at my wit's end and
days when I got kicked and thrown up on, but it was worth it.
I loved how I spent everyday helping children grow.
On my last day I had some free time and saw an infant entertaining herself in her crib, so I took her out and we spent some time together in the playroom just singing, rocking, and talking.
On my way out at the end of the day, I was fighting back the tears and found myself reminiscing.
"There's where I played life-size Candyland with the kids. There's the therapy garden where I took kids to play when the weather was nice. There's where I hurt my ankle playing floor hockey."
And then I was outside.
It was over.
I have no idea what's ahead, but I know my internship was one of the best experiences I've ever had.
One of the hardest.
But one of the best.
“There is no real ending. It’s just the place where you stop the story.”
Frank Herbert
I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much and so excited to find out what's next.
